A PUNITIVE EXPEDITION.

The Governor-General reports that Colonel Harwell’s force hits concluded a suceesslul punitive expedition, against the tribes responsible for the deaths of Majors Stigand and White m December last. Tho enemy’s main force was surprised, and the principal chief, with a considerate, force, surrendered unconditionally.
