MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
A mooting of ffelegatsa from all tho tents of the Independent Ordor of Kechabites in Christchurch and suburbs was he.d in the Y.M.C.A. building l on Friday evening for the purpose of forming u> Provincial Council of Canterbury. Tho following delegates were present:—Pride, of Christchurch Tent, Brothers C. W. Bascand and Perkins; Ark oi Refuge Tent, Brothers A. D. Hnusall, C. A. Watson and A. Martin; Enterprise Tent, Brothers K. A. M. Leaver, G. Bilby, jun., and S. Robinson; Woolston Tent, Brothers W. &'. Foster, H. G. Turner and J. Faaackerl'ey; Addington Tent, Brother J. Smith and B. J. Hoskings; Riccarton Tent, Brotlior W. Saunders; Richmond Tent, Brother W. J. Holliday. Brother Leaver presided, and outlined the constitution of the Provincial Council an passed at tho District Conference of Delegates hold in Palmeiskm North in February last. Tho council consists of tho members present at tho meeting, and the following officers were elected as an executive:—Provincial Past C.R., Brother W. J. Holliday; Provincial S.R., Brother C. N. Bascand; Provincial D.K., Brother A Martin; Provincial Secretary and Treasurer, Brother J. Bilby, jun.; Provincial Levite, Brother W. C. Foster; Provincial Superintendent of Juveniles, Brother E, J. Hoskings; Provincial Superintendent of Femalo Members, Brother W. Saunders. The executive officers returned thanks for their election, after which business, principally conoernin<? future work, was dealt w'+h Tho thirteenth annual meeting of the HcA and Black Association was held in tho Caledonian HfflJl on Monday. Mr C. H. Stnnv.-r was in the chair. Tho committee reported that tho association's annual danco had been most successful,, both socially and financially, tho net procoeds being' £39 15s Cd. Tho association commenoed the year with a crejdit '.balanoe of lis 7d, and finished withf a, credit of £l9 8s 6cl. Tho election of otlicers resulted as follows: President, Mr .T.
