TJIE RUGBY GAME. NEW RULES TO BE PLAYED. Important decisions regarding tho rules to he played in the season's lingby matches were como to by the RefereesAssociation on Monday. Tho most important of these is that the old New Zealand wing-forward rule shall apply. The consequence of this is that wingforwards will be able to play right up to the front rank of tho scrum, and follow the. ball through. In other nordi they will meioly have to keep behind tho hall in the scrum. It has also been decided that when a player is tackka the bail will not havo to be broignt mco play with the foot. Tiic new rule reads:- " When a player is tackled tho hall can be brought into play in any manner-'' It has also been decided that a, catcli may bo taken on a rebound.
