HEALTH RETURNS.

The bi-weekly influenza bulletin issued by the Health Department at noon yesterday stated that there were six cases, two of which were pneumonic (one at Hororata and one at Sydenham), and four mild (three in Christchurch and one at Waddington). In tho South Canterbury Hospital district there was one pneumonic case at Waimate. The weekly returns issued by the Health Department at midday yesterday concerning infectious diseases reported in the Canterbury district showed tho number 1 of cases to bo as follow: Grey hospital district—tuberciilosis, 1; Ashburton—scarlet fever 1, influenza 3; South Canterbury—kcarlet fever 4, influenza 4, diphtheria 2; North Canterbury—tuberculosis 5, scarlet fever 3, influenza 13, diphtheria 3, puerperal septicaemia 4, measles 13, hydatids 3. Tile following cases of influenza were reported between noon on the 15th and the 13th of December:—Auckland and North Auckland, 123 mild, 8 severe; Woffington, 17 mild, 4 pneumonic; Canterbury, 9 mild, 1 sovore; Otago, 4 mild, 1 severe. During the week ended December 22, 36 cases of influenza and 18 cases of pneumonia were reported in tho Wellington “Health District.
