The Kittawa is to leavo ior Greymouth this evening on finishing her unloading. The Kahika is to load general cargo for Now Piyipouth, for which port sho will mako her departure to-morrow evening. Tho Waitemata, irom Wellington, arrived in port yesterday morning to load cargo for Auckland, for which port she will be dispatched on Wednesday. The John Craig is expected to leave Sydney for Lyttelton on Saturday. Captain W. Barlow has resumed command of the Moana, which left Wellington yesterday for San Francisco, via ports, and his officers are as follow:—Chief, Mr W. A, Gray; third, Mr J. F. Muisoy; purser, Mr C. A. Campbell; surgeon, Dr A. E. Dilby; chief engineer, Mr R. Beveridge; third, Mr N. F. Fleming; fifth, Mr A. Silcock; sixth, Mr John Cruickshauk; sevonth, Mr H. Batten. Tho Breeze, from Timaru, arrived in port yesterday morning. This evening she will loave for Picton and Wanganui. The Ru-ahine, from London, loft Hobart at 1 p.m. <in Friday, and is expected to arrive in Auckland on Wednesday. . MANUKAU HEADS. A report dealing with Manukau Heads was submitted at the last meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board by the harbourmasters of Auckland and Manukau, tj-ho recently carried out a survey of tho channel and bar. Referring to the main channel the report stated that the banks had altered considerably, and the positions shown on the Admiralty chart were incorrect. It was rooommended that two beacon lights be erected on Windy Point, and that the main channel light at Destruction Gully be altered to an unwatchcd light. After urging tho board to expedite tho erection of the new beacons tho report recommended that the masters of j vessels drawing over 12ft of water be advised f to cross tho bar only during daylight, at tho i tame time paying careful attention to any
