SHIPPING NOTES. The Maori was to be floated out of the Port Chalmers dock yesterday. Tho Breeze was expeoted to leave Dunedin yesterday fox Timaru, Lyttelton, Picton and Wanganui, Tho Stella is due at Dunedin on Thursday next, and after discharging will lead for Lyttelton, The Te Anau is due here this morning from Timaru, It is hoped te dispatch her for Napier and Gisborne this evonmg. The. Canopus was timed to leave Went,port yesterday afternoon and should reach Lyttelton to-morrow morning. Tho Timaru Harbour Boa-rd’B dredge 350, which is being recommissioned, is *t present at Port Chalmers for overhaul.

Tho Kokiri, from Groymouth and Westport, should arrive in Lyttelton today with a cargo of ooal and timber. The Kanna, from Newoastle, with ft cargo of coal, should arrive hero to-day. The lonio should berth early this morning. Sha was timed te leave Wellington at noon yesterday. Tha Kamona, from Groymouth, arrived in Lyttelton early yesterday morning with a cargo of coal. . THE NEUMARK. The ex-German steamer Neumark, which at Auckland this week, and which

one* belonged to 4he BTambuxir-Axnerfha Line, is a comparatively new vessel, coming front the hands -of the builders at Bremen in 1914, and being recently surrendered to Britain. The Noumark left Safaga, in the Red Sea, on the last day of September, and arrived in Colombo on Ootober IS. She brings a cargo of basic phosphates and tea from Egypt and Cevlon, there being some 6000 tons of basic phosphate and about 700 tons of tea. Prior to going to Safaga, she had come from Alexandria, whence she had gone from Newport in South Wales. She is due here about next Wednesday to put out 1600 tons of phosphates and a quantity of tea. The Neumark haß the following officers on board:— Captain H. Jenkins; chief officer, A. Raymond; second officer, John Mackintosh; third officer, T. Whish; first engineer, F. Walker; second engineer, G. Ay son; wireless operators, Messrs Pearoe and Goldthorpe. Messrs Murray. Roberts and Co. are agents for the vessel.

TOFUA FOR SAN FRANCISCO. Owing to a shortage of complement the Tofua did not got away for San Francisco, via Rarotonga and Papeete, on Thursday evening. The Eastbourne Borough Council repent Ijy disposed off their oargo steamer Aorere to tho Spiral and Lock-bar Steel Company of New Zealand, Limited, for ths sum of £1250. Tho Aorere is of 77 tons, and is 86 feet over all, 14ft 6in beam, and 6ft deep, Prior to being bought by the Eastbourne Council, she was engaged in the Patea trade for many years. WELLINGTON, November 14. It has been discovered that the new American steamer, Bollbuckle, under charter to the U.S. and A. Company, which brought cargo from New York for New Zealand and Australia, and is now discharging at Wellington, has about eight feet of water in No. 2 hold. The Wellington cargo is not affected by the water, but a considerable quantity of the lower cargo for Queensland, consisting of motor-cars, machinery and general merchandise, must have been submerged.
