ASHBURTON CLUB. Tho annual meeting of the Ashbnrton Lawn Tennis Club was hold on Wednesday ovsning, Mr F. W. Seldon presiding. The annual report stated that durinß the past season competitions wore he.'d for prizes "enorously donated by tho president (Mr Hugo Friodlander), the winners boinr:— Ladies' doubles. Mrs Kennedy and Miss Bnddington; combined doubles, Mr H. Christian and Miss Black. The balance-sheet fhowed a credit balance of £35 4a 3d. The report and balance-sheet woro adopted. Officers were elected as follows:—President, Mr Hugo Friedlander; vice-presidents, Mossro R. 801 l and T. Bullock; secretary and treasurer, Mr H. L. Seldon; committee, Messrs A. H. Masson, H. Cooko, C. Wateraton, F. W. Seldon, D. Friedlander, H. A. Boddington and D. M. Montgomery: auditor, Mr C. Watcrfton; delegates to Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, Miss G. 11. Buchanan, and E. J. Taylor; delegates to Asliburton Sports Association, Messra F. W. Seldon, D. Friedlander and D. M. MonV gomery. Eight new members wero elected. The twenty-fifth annual meeting of the New Brighton Lawn Tennis Club was heid in the Borough Council Chambers. The president (Mr R. C. The Kaiapoi Tennis Club opened ita season at the courts in Darnley's Square yesterday afternoon. There was a large attendance of members and their friends, and friendly games were played.
