Mr Junto® Hay, 0J8.E., formerly field secretary In charge of the YJi.O.A. in Franc®, is returning to New Zealand by the Rimutaka, which will arrive in Wellington on May 17.

Mrs Olothier, Willowby, Ashburton, has received aavioo from the Minister of Defence that her husband, Sergeant W. A. Clothier, has been awarded the Military Medal for gallantry on the field of action. Sergeant Clothier left with the Seventh Reinforcements, with the Field Ambulance section, and has been in every engagement with the Wow Zealanders in France. Ho was slightly wounded In October, 1918. Brigadier-General G. S. Richardson, 0.8., 0.M.G., Who commanded the New Zealand troops in the United Kingdom, is on the Remuera, which is expected to arrive at Auokland on May 5, and should reach Wellington two days later. Word has been received that Captain W. S. Seed, who arrived by the Tainui at Wellington on Tuesday, will reach Christchurch this morning. After spending a few days in the city, ha will proceed to Dunedin to take up his duties in connection with the jaw cases that are to be treated at the Special Hospital that has been opened to receive the patients brought out by the Tainui, who will bo under the charge of Major Pickerel! Captain Seed expects to be on duty in Dunedin for at feast several months, after which lie will return to Christohurch.

Dr P. A. Ardagh, who has been away from New Zealand for over three years, will return on the Arawa, which will arrive in Lyttelton about May 12. Dr Ardagh holds the rank of captain, and during his three years’ service has been almost continuously in or near the front line trenches, for most of the time attached to tho First Aucklands as regimental medical officer. Ho was reported wounded on three occasions, besides incurring many slight wounds; was awarded first the M.C., then the D. 5.0./ and was very strongly recommended for the V.C. by BrigadierGeneral Russell. Mrs Ardagh will return on the same boat after three years in England, the whole of which time was devoted to nursing. " Lieutenant J. J. Ardagh (brother of Dr Ardagh) will also arrive on the Arawa, A presentation of silver plate and office accessories was made last evening to Mr H. T. Whittingham, who for the past twenty-one years has acted as chief accountant to the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ltd., and during tho past two years has also held tho appointment of shareholders’ auditor. Mr Whittingham is commencing practice on his own account, but will continue to not in the capacity of shareholders’ auditor to the Farmers’ Co-operative Association, and the directors have also appointed him to an important fiduciary position with the company. The presentation was made by Mr A. W. Jamieson, acting-manager, who referred in eulogistic terms to the faithful service that had been rendered by Mr Whittingham to the association. Fifteen other employees who had also been associated until Mr Whittingham for over twenty years also spoke.
