MAGISTRATE'S COURT
CHRISTCHURCH. Mr S. E. M'Oarthy, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. *A first oifendor was fined 5a on a charge of drunkenness. ivxaigaret M 1/emiott pleaded guilty to a ciiarge of having been found drunk, and not guilty to a charge of loitering in a public plate for the purpose of prostitution, rilie was convicted and sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment. Victor Percy Naylor, who was charged with having been helplessly drums, expressed a ciesire that a prohibition order should be taken out against him. The Magistrate issued the order, and Naylor was ordered to pay medical expenses. George Shamy, charged with a breach of his prohibition order, was released on the undertaking to pay £'i! and medical expenses. JLan Ayson, a youth, was charged with the theft of a pair of binoculars, valued at £l3 13s ? the property of William White. His employer expressed a willingness to have the lad in his service, and accused was placed on probation for twelve months'.
