IVE FOR —<y. ' The opening of the motor-cycle season at Daimovirko proved to be a Field Day ior tho Hailey Davidsons. Of the three events the liavloy Davidsons seemed Two Firsts from scratch. Three Seconds and One Third. Mangham (Harley Davidson) was the star performer, Ids phenomenal riding being a feature of the meeting, winning tho Eiglit-lap Open from scrutch, Tenlap Open from scratch, and seoond from scratch in tho Fifteen-lap Open, being beaten by the narrowest margin after conceding the winner, Dawber (Indian), 90soo. The meeting of such champions ns Maugham Cplemivn, Crawley, Whitehead, Dawber and others, was watched with the keenest interest. Tho Harley Davidson trio, Mangham, Crawley and Whitehead, carried tho honours of the .day. It is to be regretted that these famous machines were not exhibited at this year's show, the American Government having commandeered the whole output of the Harley Davidson factorv fot war purposes. The Agents, Messrs. ,lodes .Bros., Did., Clock Tower, are exhibiting in their window the machine ridden by Mapgham in bis Dannevirke success, also IvennettV machine, which secured First and l'astest Time in last beach races. j
