WAR FUND APPEAL.

For the men of the British Navy and the merchantmen attached and their dependents. AFTER THE AVAR, and for ypars to come, THERE WILL BE MAN Y BEREAVE!) HOMES THROUGHOUT THE BRITISH ISLES. Amidst tho rejoicing on the proclamation of peace these may ho forgotten. NEVER LET IT BE SAID THAT THE PEOPLE OF THIS DOMINION FORGOT THEIR DUTY to the dependents of tho gallant men. who saved them from the unspeakable horrors that happened in Belgium and Northern France.

Surely, AFTER THE PROTECTION AYE HAVE RECEIVED FROM THE BRITISH NAVY, towards which New Zealand has paid infinitely little, it believes everyone to contribute to this worthy fund. IS ANY PRICE TOO GREAT TO PAY FOR THE IMMUNITY FROM ATTACK AND 1.0.5 S OF OUR COMMERCES

Undoubtedly we shall never repay our obligations in full, hut we can, to tbo best of our ability, help to make the lives of the widows and children of naval men lost during the war as happy and comfortable as possible. Tho fund is administered by a responsible and representative committee in London, and donations sent to the office of the Navy League, 119, Worcester Street, Christchurch, will bo gratefully acknowledged. ALEX. BOYLE, President.
