The Calm reached Lyttelton yesterday morning early from Dunedin, via Timaru, and owing to scarcity of labour her departure for Wellington has been delayed until to-day. The Tainui did not put in an appearance in the port yesterday as expected. Tho vessel left Wellington yesterday morning, --ud should, arrive in Lyttolton by this morning. •Tho Wakatu, which has been, undergoing cleaning and painting at Wellington, was expected to sail last evening for Kaikoura and Lyttelton. It. is intended in future to run the Riverina on alternate trips from Sydney to Wellington, and from Sydney to Auckland. Tin's means that every six weeks' there will be no passenger steamed between Sydney and We'lington. The Corinnft Is. due. here next Wednesday, from southern ports. She will sail from Lyttelton for New Plymouth direct. Mr E. G. F. Zohrab, manager of the Cha'hnm Island Fishing Company, ho>4 arranged to charter the Rum to make a trip to the Chatham Islands, her sailing time from Wellington having been fixed for to-day.
