A deputation from the annual conference of l tho_ Associated Chambers of Commerce waited on Sir Francis Bell this morning, to urgo an early improvement in the' bankruptcy law. Mr G-ow (Dunedin) «aid tho resolutions they had come to support wore largely those passed by tho conference in 1909, so that they were requests of long standing. Sir Francis Bell gave at definite promise to go into the matter during the recess, and to endeavour to bring before the. Associated Chambers of .Commerce an amendment of tho Act for consideration, and then* if he still was in office, he would bring the proposals before Parliament.
