ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES.
[Psn Press Asaociation.] WELLINGTON, October 29. Frederick John Wormall was arrested at the Upper Hutt yesterday, and Cecil Charles M'Cullough was arrested in the city to-day, and remanded to Christchurch, to appear on November 1, on a charge of obtaining £194 from William John Cupples by means of a false pretence that they would endeavour to obtain the release of Miss Hines from a Christchurch convent. TWO OTHER ACCUSED. In the Christchurch Court yesterday Arthur Park M'Guire and Janet Mary M'Guire (Mr Hunter), charged with obtaining £194 from William John Cupples by a false pretence, were remanded to appear on November 6, bail being allowed.
