At 7.28 p.m. yesterday the fire brigade turned out to an alarm given for an outbreak at No. 355, Madras Street, a four-roomed cottage occuB'ed by Mr C.. Schultz and owned -by rC. Otley. The blaze was found in an empty room, in which two young men were engaged by candlelight in pouring petrol .into the tanks of two motor-teycles. One of the machines was badly damaged and the other suffered in a slighter degree. The house and contents were not affeoto**
