On charges of drunkenness, Henry M'Causiand, a fourth offender, was f.netl 20b and costs, in default seven days' imprisonment. Ettie O'Toole, a second offender, was convicted, and a prohibition order was issued against her at her own request. Wi'linm Henry Poninghaus was charged with having been drunk and with having procured liquor during tho currency of a prohibition order. Accused was fined 20s and costs on the first charge and was convicted and ordered to come up for. sentence wlvn called noon on the other charge. The Magistrate warned the accused that if he were brouafht up on a charge of drunkenness within six. months he would be sent to Pakatoa. He advised him to go back to his farm and remain there. •

Alexander Robinson, £1 10s; John R. Watt v. Alexander Anderson, £6 18s od; same v. Harold C. Bowen, £4 18s 3d; V. Brian v. Albert E. Freear, £6. D. and 1. Sinclair (Mr Beswick) pro ceeded against Edward Curtner and William & Mitchell (Mr Cassidy), for £l9B 15s 4.d, balance of an account alleged to be due for alterations and repairs that the plaintiffs had effected to a trawler owned by the defendants. After. hearing counsel judgment was given for the plaintiffs for the amount; claimed and costs. The sum of £IOO of the amount claimed was paid after tho summons was issued, but as it was p-ud to plsintiffs' counsel and not into Court it was net lecral'y reroTnired. and hid<irnent was given' for the full amount in the original claim, with costs reckoned on that amount.
