GIRL PEACE SCOUTS.

TOWNEND CHALLENGE SHIELD WON J BY SPREYDON. The Townond Home Nursing Challenge Shield competition, which is open to Girl Peace Scouts throughout the Dominion, has been won this year by Spreydon. The compe'.ition consisted of six written tests in theory and six tests in prac'ical work Tbn possib'e marks obtainable wore CGO arid 1440 respective y, a total of 2103. Six teams of twelve girls each entered. The results are as follows: Spreydon troop, Chriotchurch, 544 theory, 1250 practical—lß44 points ... . 1 Rotorua troop, 601 theory, 1201 practical—--1802 points ...... 2 Sydenham troop, Christ church (one girl absent in theory test and one in practical). 514 theory, 1237 practical—l7sl points . . . . . .3 Thames troop, Auckland East (two" girls unavoidably absent from both tests), 469 theory, 1115 practical, 1584 points; N*w Brighton, Chris church. 455 theory, 1030 practical—l4Bs points; St Michael's, Christchurch, 538 theory. 922 practical—l46o points, Thoi Sydenham troop were tho winners last year. Spreydon were the first winners of the shield.

The thanks of tho association are duo to the examiners and supervisors for their services, especially to Nurre Maude, who examined forty-seven candidates in the practical test, and Mrs W. J, W&lkior, who ; examined the written papers of sixty-nine candidates.
