THE RUGBY GAME. TRIAL MATCH. A trial match played at tho Show Ground* on'Saturday resulted in a win for the representative team, who beat tho B team by 23 points to 3. SECOND GRADE. Christ's Collegs beat Linwood by 21 points to nil. THIRD GRADE. Technical College beat Albion-Addington by 10 points to 9. WAITAKI v. CHRISTCHURCH BOYSHIGH SCHOOL. Tho annual matches between tho Waitiki and Christchurch first and second fifteens were played at Waimate on Friday. In the' Junior match, Wiaitaki won by 11 points to 3. For the winners, Douglas, Inkson, M'Phay and Torlesse scored a trv each, and Chisnall converted one. Allen kicked a penalty goal for Christchurch The Senior game was also won bv Waitaki, who scored 13 points to 3 by tie visitors For tho winners, M'Ghie, Quinn ar.d H&r* greaves scored a try each, and the lastnamed player converted two. Dixon scored for the losc-rs.

In a, friendly game D.I.C. beat Beath's by 23 points to 6.

THE LEAGUE GAME.

SATURDAY'S GAMES. SENIOR GRADE. After several postponements the various competitions were resumed on Saturday. There was very little interest' taken in ha fixtures, and the teams, with one exception in the Senior Grade, were not fully represented. Sydenham beat Ftrnby by 46 points to nil. Federal beat Linwood bv 31 points to 3. Both sides were short of players. junioFflAg-. Avon and Woolston played a drawn s-anw, each sido scoring 8 points; Hornbv lea' Svdenham, nt Sydenham Park, by 14 points to nil; Addington had a bye. THIRD GRADE. Linwood B beat Avon bv 15 points ia nil; Linwood A and Sydenham match was postponed until the end,of tho season. FOURTH GRABE.

Woolston B beat Ldnwood by 14 points to G. Federal defaulted to Sydenham, and Addington to Woolston A.
