MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING.

The Cliristclrurch Miniature -Rifle Association's third annual open championship mooting was held at Chester Street Rifle Range on Saturday last, and was in every way a great success. The competitions included teams and individual shooters from all.the local clubs, and from the Tiinaru Eire Brigado Ladies, Southbroolc, Rangiora and Ashburton Clubs. The onirics totalled 21 in the teams matches, and 140 in the individual competitions. The urizes consisted of thirteen gold medals. The. officials were: —Target Committee, Messrs Wharton (City), Craig (Sydenham), Docker (Working Men's Club); range officers, Messrs Drools (Kaiapoi), Bowiker (Linwood), Cockroft (Sydenham), Fleming (City), Buchanan (Ward's), Benan (Linwood); timekeepers, Messrs J. Left (Sydenham), AV. Wells (Linwood), J. Light-, foot (Linwood); secretary, Mr A. Tongue (Working Men's Club); assistant secretaries, Messrs F. Logan (Sydenham). A. Tavlor (Liuwood);, marker's officers at bulls, Messrs F. Judkin, ' Christehurch), Harrison (Sydenham), Davison (City), O'Brien (Railway), Taylor (Working Men's Club). Mr Bridgeman (Linwood) looked after the individual and Mr A. Welsh was in charge of tho targets.

Thomas (Railway Reserve), 9 consecutive bulls 2 Tho following, with 69 each, tied for three prizes:—R. Piper, J. Cullcn, P. Morgan, A. Helmshaw (W.M.C.), P. Logan, W. Cockroft, R. Harrison (Sydenham), Carter (Railway), Murray (Ward's), Lightfoot (Linwood), Barker (Peppler's). The ties will be shot off on Wednesday night. WINTER TOURNAMENT.
