FATAL ACCIDENT.
MOTOR OVERTURNS AT WEKA PASS. FARMER FOUND UNDER CAR. A motor-car accident occurred in the Woka Pass, just outside Waikari, on Saturday night, whereby Mr Patrick Kennedy, a well-known fanner on the Culver den Estate, met liis death. Mr Kennedy’s body was found beneath ma overturned motor-car at 5 a.m. yesterday, by a young jnan, whose attention was attracted in the first instance b> the fact that the car lamps were still burning. Medical examination showed that Mr Kennedy’s back was broken. The position of the car led to the / belief that Kennedy had failed to take a turn, on the steep incline leading down to Waikari, with the result that the oar had crashed into a culvert, the rear wheel being smashed and the car overturned.
Mr Kennedy had been to Christchurch in the car on Saturday, and left Rangiora on the return journey about 6 p.m.
An inquest was held yesterday before v Mr Scott, J.P., and a jury, and a verdict of accidental death .was returned. Mr Kennedy’s parents are residents of St Albans. Ho leaves a widow an! three children.
