THE TERRITORIALS.

ANNUAL TRAINING. The District Headquarters Staff in Christchurch has fixed dates and places for annual camps of Territorials this season. The camps will be held at Burnham, at Mr Ohaytor’s property, Marshhjnd, and at Mr M’Mahon’s property, Tapawera, Nelson. The Burnham camp will take the place of the) Sockburn camp, and the Westport and Kaikoura camps have been cancelled. The Burnham camp will be held in March and April, the Marshland camp in April, and the Tapawera camp in May. i The following camp staffs have been appointed:— Burnham—Commandant, Major W. C. Morrison; adjutant, Lieutenant R A- Hawkins; quartermaster, Captain T. Archey: assistant quartermaster, Se-cond-Lieutenant H. W. Webb; ser-geant-major, Staff Sergeant-Major A. The following is the scale of daily rations: —Bread, IJlb; meat, lslb ; butter, 4oz: cheese, 2oz; coffee, ioz; flour, lez; jam, 4oz; fresh milk i pint, or i tin of condensed milk; oatmeal, 2oz; potatoes, lib; onions, 2oz; pepper, l-320z; salt, ioz; sugar, 4oz; tea, 3oz; coal, 2cwt per cooker, plus 21b wood per man, or wood 81b per man per diem where there are no cookers; candles, 1 candle per tent or 2 per marquee per night; straw, 151 b per mail on coming into camp, and such other issues subsequently as the medical officer orders; baking powder, 31b per 1001 b of flour. In addition to that scale, an allowance up to 2d per man per ’day; is authorised for the purchase of extras. Camp commandants may establish a canteen in each camp. Officers aro instructed to see that no waste occurs, apd that rations are not drawn in excess of actual requirements.
