Park [Plate and acceptances for other events Vt the summer meeting of the Canterbury Jockey Club meeting are due totaight at nine o’dock, j The Calibre gelding, Bore, who has! 'recently gone into work again, has come to hand very quickly and is now moving along very freely. During liis spell jhe was operated on for and he appears to have benefited by the treatment, an he shows no signs of distress after working, such as troubled him formerly. He will be raced over j hurdles jat some of the autumn meetings. and later on he will probably be tried as a steeplechaser.

i The two-yoar-old filly, Kilalla, who 'had to be spelled some time ago on account of lameness, is once more a mem--1 ber of F. D. Jones’s team- She is quite 'sound again, and looks all the better [for her rest. It was bad luok for hef* ’owner to lose the services of such a ! speedy galloper while there, were so jrnany short rqces, but she may pick up | a , good stake before the close of the Reason.

i R. J. Mason Is keeping Biplane busy, and though his fast work, so far. has been confined to short sprints, he is gradually getting back to form. Mason [intended to leave shortly for WangaJnui with the Comedj r King colt, but he has since reconsidered, the subject, and ibis departure may be delayed until (nearer the date of the Wanganui Jockey' Club’sv meeting. The proposal for an autumn campaign in Australia has also been under discussion, and it seems very unlikely now that it will eventuate. The popular opinion seemed jto he.that Biplane would go to Sydney ■for the Easter meeting of the Australian Jockey Club, but he is not in Hie St Leger, and with a few good weight-for-age races available in New Zealand , there is no special inducement for a trip to Sydney". W. M’Donald has the imported horse. Gay Lad, by Cellini, moving along nicely in his work. He is gradually getting into racing shape, and he has an .i.ttractire style of galloping,.suggestive -of a. useful career later on-

V /The imported mare, Winter Cherry, bis been galloping particularly well lately. She puts plenty of dash into her work, and from the manner in which she finishes up her tasks it looks as if'she would stay well when she fis tried over longer journeys.

, Miss de Val is to fulfil her engagements at the Dunedin Jockey Club’s meeting, and she will be shipped south on Saturday- She visited M ingatui si rear po, when she won the Publicans’ (Handmap.

The, Trentham trainer, H. Telford, has entered Probation and Devotion for ‘the Dunedin meeting, but so far nothing lias been decided as to whether the trip will take place. -After racing at Trentham Multicipal was suffering with kidney troubles, and it is feared that he may not. be able to make the trip south for the Ricearton and Wingatui fixtures. If this proves to he the case, Torfreda will also remain at home. J. W. Lowe has taken in hand a •three-year-old Boniform filly to prepare for racing. He is also taking up a two-vear-old sister to Demagogue purchased W the Messrs Riddiford from Mrs M. A. Perry, who bred the youngster. Latest reports from the north state that G. Price may have to go into camp shortly and that during his absence S. Reid will have charge of the JH ighden team. The Martian—Neva horse. Winterbourne,, who did stud duty in the Opot:ki district this season, has gone into i\y. Mobberlev’s stable at Ellerslie, to •fee prepared for racing engagements in • the autumn.

The Achilles filly, Silver Link, who won both the two-year-old races at the . Takapuha Jockey Club’s meeting, was among the cheap yearlings sold last .season. She was bred by Mr I. G. Duncan and was secured by Mr A. t Alexander, her present owner, for 80 guineas.

Tlie death is reported from Auckland of the stallion Soultikoff, who did stud duty in the Waikato district this season. He was a brother to Canrobert and Marshal Soult, by Soult—Hotel) erina. and though a disappointment as a racehorse he was expected to make a , name as a -sire.

Air W. Davies., at one time a well known owner-trainer in Wellington, continues to pick up an occasional race .in'New South Wales, where he has resided for a few years. His latest success was gained with Sonite, who added to his list of wins by capturing a- welter race at Wallsend this month. Sonite who is by Field Battery—Wish, is now in bis tenth year, and when a three-year-old he ran Danube to half a length in the Wanganui Guineas.
