Sir Douglas Haig reports:—There was great hostile artillery fire on the Monchy le Preux sector. GERMAN AIR CLAIMS. A. and N.Z. Cable Association and Rcv.tet. (Received January 30, 8.15 p.m.) LONDON, January 29. A wireless German official message states :--We brought down thirteen aeroplanes yesterday on the west front. WITH' THE FRENCH. AERIAL ACTIVITY. A. and N.Z. Cable Association and Renter. (Received January 30, 9.15 p.m.) LONDON, January 29. A French communique says:—Our air squadrons dropped six thousand kilogrammes of explosives on a railway station at Confirms, factories in the St Privat region, and on various aerodromes.
