The heavy northerly wind blowing enabled thoso birds that successfully crossed tho Strait, where, tho weather was dirty, to register very fast times. Tho winning bird in tho Napier race, the properly of P. Kibblowhite, flew tho distance of oG-l miles 1278 yards in 8 hours 33min 30soC8. The, following is the order in which tho competitors wero placed:—F. Kibblewhito's No. 523, 1220yds per minute; F. Kiiigsford's Le Dax, 1120yds; E. Puch's Jack of Spades. 1148yds; Blauchard, 1147yds; Woodhouse Bros., 1017yds; J. Shipton, 911yds; H. Browning, 837yds; £. Kirkby, 896yds; A. Gerard, 846yds; Barter Bros., S42vds; 11. Gates, 828vd«; C. Shaw, 800yds; G. Anderson, 77Gyds; "ft". Terry, 770yds; D. Dore, 037yds; F. Wilson, 473yds.
