ANNUAL PRIZE GIVING. The animal distribution of prizes and pupils’ concert in connection with the schools conducted in Christchurch by the Sisters of Notre Game des Missions, was held yesterday afternoon in St Joseph's .Schoolroom, Lower High Street, when there was a crowned attendance of pupils, parents and friends, Bishop Brodie presiding. . Murphy, and Misses K. Murphy and Ii Bradford played one of Scharwpnka’s “ Polish Dances ” as a duct (two pianofortes). A part song,Serenade in Summer,” was sung by. senior pupils with 1 instrumental accompaniment by Miss,- M. Bowman (violin), and. Miss G\ Young (’fiello); quartette, “ Ave Maria,” in which Miss V. Berry was the „vocal soloist, accompanied by Miss M. Bowman (violin). Miss G. Young (’cello), and Miss K. Murphy (harp), a harp solo, “ Elegie,” by Miss K. Murphy, and a tnbleau “ Regina Pacis ” were also amongst the most successful items. *■ Ail exhibition of -pupils’ work was held in one of "the schoolrooms, the examples, of both pure and applied nrt work shown maintaining the very high standard which has always been sot by'these schools ini this respect.
