A letter was read from tho Railway Department stating that at the coming shows no special trains would bo run and no special concessions would bo made, but that extra carriages would be put on up to the full capacity of the haulage power of the trains. It was decided to write to tho Department to the effect (that the meeting was of opinion that agricultural shows were a necessity and should not be placed on the same footing as racing clubs, and that concessions should be made on the carriage of stock going to and from the shows. A letter was road from Mr J. Brown, of the Agricultural Department, regretting that he could not accept the association's invitation to give a lecture on the growth of green feed, but he would probably bo ablo to arrange for Mr A. Macpherson, of tho Fields Division Department, to give the lecture. Mr R. J. Chapman, Willowby, was elected a momber. It was decided that all the sub-com-mittees have power to select their own judges for the different classes of stock. It. was also resolved to ask the judges appointed if they would express their opinions after the judging as to.why any particular animal had been awarded a prize. The president expressed the opinion that the next show should be a one day show only, in view of .the difficulty there would be in getting the exhibits to the ground. He thought a one day show would meet all requirements for the coming season. Other members also expressed the same opinion, and thought thero would be a great saving in expense. It was decided to consider the matter further at a future and the president gave notice of motion that a one day show he held.
