RETURNED SOLDIERS' REQUEST. DEFENCE MINISTER'S REPLY. [Per.Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 15. The executive committee of tho ISetf ealand Returned Soldiers' Association M received a reply from tho Minister : Defence to tho association's request mt increases in pensions and allowices be made retrospective. The Minter states that in his opinion the terations njpde should be applicable to 1 soldiers and their debendents as om a definite date, whether the soldier )longed to the Main Body or was going to camp. He feared it was not •acticable to make it retrospective. The association has decided to reply iat it is convinced that in' principle its aim is ]ust. and that it is unaware : any difficulties which could bo reirded as making the proposal impraccable.
