DOG SHOW.

CANTERBURY KENNEL CLUB. The annual. show of the Canterbury Kennel Club was opened yosterday in the King's Theatre. Usually the club holds its exhibition at the Agricultural and Pastoral Association's show in November, but this year it waa decided to hold it a few months earlier. The entries were very large in some classes, but in others they were rather disappointing. There was a fair attendance during Ihe morning and afternoon, but it increased considerably during the evoning. The show will be open again to-day, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The judges, Messrs B. Bernaeconi (Wellington) and C. Cutts (Wellington) got through their work expeditiously. Much of the success of tho show is due to the efficient manner in which tho secretary (Mr C. W. Hervey) carried out his. duties. The prize list is as follows, the number of entries• being given in parentheses: GREAT DANES. Bitches, open (I)—C. H. Greville-Smith's Clementine 1. POINTERS.
