SUMNER VOLUNTEER EIRE BRIGADE.

Tho Sumner Volunteer Fir© Brigade in«t last night, Superintendent Carter presiding over a full attendance of members. Tho secretary reported that tho recent social had been very successful and had resulted ill -a, net profit of £l2. It was decided to void £3 to tho Redcliffs Red Cross Committee, £3 to the Sumner Red Cross Committee and £6 to the funds of the .brigade. Votes oi thanks were passed to the Rodcliffs and Sumner Red Cross Committees foi providing refreshments. Tho chairman reported that the brigades social room had recently been reopened. It was decided to appoint Superintendent baiter to take charge of the room. . in with the Stunner Liverpool Committee to make arrangements to hold a dance, proceeds oi which would go towards pl°«d iu g Christmas presents for tho Sumner Redcliffs men on active service. The chairman and secretary were appointed a «»- committeo to interview tho Liverpool b-om-mit-tee at tho next meeting to moke final arrangements. ... . , A challenge to play a billiards match was received from tho Sumner Bowling Club.
