Mr and Mrs J. P. Tivey (Sydney) vo saying at the Clarendon. Mr and Mrs Cyril Oliver (Rotherham)- are visiting Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Elmslie (Geraldine) are staying at the Clarendon.

Mr and Mrs Aufrere Fenwick left on Tuesday evening for Wellington. Mrs J. M’Cracken (Rangiora) is staying at the United Service. She leaves shortly for Australia. Mrs MacDonell and Miss lvathlene MacDonell. passed through Christchurch on Tuesday, on their way north. An engagement of interest is that of Mrs Alison Brown, who left New Zealand in June of last year as one of our Volunteer Sisters, to Captain Griffiths, of the Royal Fioid Artillery, at present attached to the Flying Corps in Egypt. Prior to the war Captain Griffiths was a Judge in- India. Mrs Bi own is - working l at the Officers’ Convalescent Home in Alexandria. It is expected, that the marriage will take place shortly.

Dr Foro lectured on “Hygiene” on Monday evening to a meeting • of women, under the auspices of tho Workers’ Educational Association. On Tuesday evening Dr Fere gave a lectnro on "Antiseptics” to about sixty women, at a- meeting of the Sehvyn Nursing division of tho Red Cross Society. 1 WEDDINGS. Yesterday morning at the Cathedral, Barbadoes Street, Miss Ada Crawford, only dattghter of Mr and Mrs Frank Crawford, of Christchurch, was married to Mr Frank M’Auley, of Oamaru. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, wore »’ dnifity soft- white satin frock, the bodice being mostly of white uinoii. * She wore a bridal veil and wreath of orange blossoms. Miss A. Gray and .Miss E. .Flanagan were the bridesmaids, both wearing pretty white merv frocks and carrying shower bouquets. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Percy Knight. A reception was afterwards held at the Henrietta. Rooms. Mr and Mrs M’Auley left later on for tho south, the bride wearing a navy blue crepe do chino costume and handsome black fur coat. Tho bridegroom is shortly going into camp at Trentham.

On Monday afternoon, at St Saviour's Church; Sydenham, tho wedding took place of Miss Voro Sewell, eldest daughter of Mrs Pearson, Milton Street, and Mr R. J. M’Callum, of Hastings Street. The bride wore a white silk dress. She was attended by the. Misses M’Callum and Miss Letty Sewell,, as bridesmaids, and Miss Rl. Sewell ns flower girl. Mr Kneashaw was best man A reception was held 'at the residence of the bride’3 parents.
