MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

CBTRISTCHUBCH. . Mr T. A.. 8. Bailey, S.M.. presided at the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Reserved judgment was given in the case Trist and Small (Mr Cuningham) v. Frederick John Raynor (Mr Meares). claim £2O 9s. Tho Magistrate stated that the evidence for the plaintiff was not conclusive. Plaintiff would be nonsuited. (In the case International Harvester Co., Ltd. (Mr Wright) v. Robert Allen (Mr Cuningham, instructed by Harris and Ladley, Mar'ton). claim for £2, most of the evidence had been taken on commission .elsewhere. Evidence was given by Louis Milner, collection manager for the plaintiff company, that the amount was owing as a balance due under a contract for tho purchase of a harvesting machine. Tho defence was that defendant had entered into an amended contract with an agent of the company, under which he was entitled to discount to the amount of tho claim. The Magistrate gave judgment for.the plaintiff for tho amount claimed and costs.

LYTTELTON. Captain HatchweU, J.P., and Mr W. C. Clearv, J.P., presided at the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court yesterday. Alexander Ewen. Palmer was charged with entering a. railway carnage without having a faro or a railway ticket. Sergeant Jackson .said _the accused was found in the ferry train, and it was desired to. stop '.people boarding the train without tickets or fares. Defendant was ordered to pay costs. On the application of his mother a prohibition order was issued against Kenneth George Schenker.
