ROSE DAY.

ARRANGEMENTS WELL FOR-

WARD. The Rose Fete Committee of the Domains Board met yesterday, Mr James Jamieson presiding. Mr A. J. Symons reported that the C.D.C. had arranged for various side shows. Mr J. Yv*. Irwin reported that Mr S. Anstey land placed the whole of liis fleet of boats at the disposal of the committee, and the shed would be closed for the day for ordinary business. It was hooed to get. a Darktown Brigade for the" day. It had, been decided to confine all "boating and canoeing to the river. It was decided to thank Mr Anstey for his offer. The chairman reported that motor rides would be arranged in and around North Park. . The secretary reported that the howling clubs had been asked to suspend all mimes on fete day. The offer of W. Barnett and Co. to give their -windows for a distilay of roses, posters and booklets on Friday and Saturday before the fete, was accepted with thanks.. ... The Mavor (Mr IT. Holland) suggested that it* would be wise not to proceed with the erection of the dam in the river before fete day. It was decided to invite the Governor to oncn the fete. Mr G. Harper reported that the C.D.C intended to have a tent for infjuiries and other purposes.
