BANKS PENINSULA RABBIT BOARD.

QUARTERLY MEETING. Tho quarterly meeting of the Banks Peninsula Rabbit Board was held on Wednesday; present—Messrs H. T. Chapman (chairman), R. Gebbie, 11. A. Nutt and C. IV. Field.

Correspondence was received and sent to the Hon R. H. Rhodes relating to rabbits, on Quail Island and the inspection of the island." It was decidocl to write to tlje Hon R. H. Rhodes stating that permission had. not yet been received from the Minister of Agriculture for the board’s inspector to visit the island. The inspector’s report was dealt with and it was resolved to leave over the question of fencing the Halswell River. The clerk reported that rates amounting to £4B 18s 4d had been paid during jhe past quarter. Tho chairma'n (Mr Chapman) referred to the loss sustained by the board by the death of Mr 11. W. Piper, and moved that a letter of condolence should be sent to Mrs Piper. The motion was seconded by Mr Nutt and was carried', members standing.

Accounts to the value of £7B Is 2d were passed for payment.
