COMPULSION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Now that compulsion is close at hand I would libe .to know through your columns if single men without dependents who are on the land will bo called up the. same as the wageearner. I k n ow of one man in particular who' is of military age, has no dependents, and who looks fit as a fiddle, who boasts that thp, Government will not take him on account of the mortgage on his estate. Now, is this class of man to shelter behind his mortgage, and make his pile, while the poor unfortunate who has nothing but his wages goes out to fight for him P—l am, etc., SISTER OF THREE SOLDIERS..
