RED CROSS WORK SALES DEPOT. The week-end sale of home-made foodstuffs, etc., will be held at tho depot, next General Post Office, on Friday night and Saturday. The sales will be in. charge of tho ladies of Knox Church congregation, and they will have a great variety of cooked foods and homo-made delicacies on offer, cakes of all sorts, meat pies, fruit pies, sweets, confectionery, poultry, lamb, mutton, bacon, jams, chutney, elly, eggs, etc.,, also fruit, vegetables and spring flowers. The whole of the gross proceeds taken at the depot on'Friday and Saturday will be handed over to the Red Cross “ Our Day" Fund and sick and wounded soldiors. OUST DISTRICTS AND WEST EYRETON. Graham) acknowledges receipt of £4 10s, the proceeds of a dance at Woolston, per Mr L. Trewern, as a donation to the Woolston Rod Cross branch. i WESTERFIELD. The annual meeting of the Westorfleld blanch of the Red Cross Society was held on Thursday, when about twenty members wore present. Mesdames Galbraith, Watson, Hunter, Wood and Espagne, from Ashburton, were also present, and. Mesdames Galbraith and Watson delivered addresses. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. MrpCoward was rc-elected president, Mid ,Mtbs Coward was elected secretary ana treasurer.
