CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Canterbury Lawn Tenuis Association was held ltst night, Mr G. L. At a subsequent c c " & ra' meeting of »hp association an appeal for funds was received from the Red Cross AasaouUioii, a.ud it was decided to recommend the clubs to make n spociskl efforts on their opening days in aid of tbo fund.

Tayler aaid that elsewhere a special effort • was being made to cater for school children, and the Match Committea should bo empowered to secure the co-opora-tion of school teacheis and promote a tournameut on a largo scale. Tho proposal was strongly supported by the president and other 'members, the suggestion being made that cluba might, throw open their courts to school children between certain hours under tho supervision of teachers. Mr Tavier said that the Limvood, Avonside, St" Albans, Cranmer and Sydenham Clubs had plaeed their courts at tho children's disposal, and the privilege was never withdrawn, but the children ceased to pl«y, ] 'the matter was left to the Match Committee.
