_ 4 EICCARTONCLUB. Tho annual meeting of the Riecarton Cricket Club was held on Friday night. Mr R. 11. North presided over a small attendance.' , , . , Tho report and balancc-sneet were adopted. The chairman stated that, iberc was still £34 owing on account of groumi rent, and it was hoped that with the balance in hand of i!l7 odd the remainder would be covered by a picture benefit which was to be tendered to'the ciub. E. 801 l and R. J. Nixon: delegates to Cricket Association, Messrs E. R. Csvgill, R. H. North. E. E. Luttrell and H. B. Whitta: auditors. Messrs F. W. Powell and E. Boulton: delegate to the Sports Association, ,Mr R. H. North; delegates to the Park Ground Committee, Messrs E. E. "LuUrell and E. R. Caygill; selectors, the captains of flic various teams and Mr North. , _ Messrs T. H. Mann. B. Lock and O. Caygill wero appointed selectors for the opening matches. The t.wer.tv-sovcnth annua! meeting of the Veterans' Cricket Club was held in the Y.M.C.A.'" rooms on Saturday evening. Mr E. Cuthbert, nresident, bein? in the chair. The report and the balance-sheet, showing a CTodit balance cf £' lis 9d, v.ere adopted. Officers were elected as follow:—President, Mr Edwin Cuthbert (re-elected); vice-presi-dents, Messrs A. R. Bloxam and H. B. Lane (re-elected); club captain, Mr Andrew M'Nao (re-elected); v vice-captain, Mr A. Rattray; secretary and treasurer, Mr TI. h, Lawrence; selection committee, MesfTs Rattray. Bascand and Lawrence: committee, Sir Ceoil Moon and Messrs Barrell, Ifiamni,: Pas;e, Jcweil, Clark snd Ashby. The opening dsv was fised for Thursrlav, October 5, when Mr A. Rattray will provide afternoon tea.
