WAR IN THE AIR.
BIG RAID ON BRITAIN.

LONDON, September 3.
It is officially stated that shortly before 11 p.m. several airships attacked the eastern counties. Many bombs were thrown ou widely separated localities.
The airships were more numerous than on any previous raid. Apparently the objective of tho attack was London. The raiders were beaten off, and one. was bronght clown in flames in .the London district. 'The fall was witnessed by large, crowds in the suburbs.
