RUSSIAN REPULSE ENEMY

A communique says:— The Turks resumed tho offensive westward of Gumish-Knanoh, Erzingan and Oguot, but were everywhere repelled. Three Turkish regiments broke through our Turkestan regiment, hut the gallant Turkestans immediately counterattacked with the bayonet and rcoccupied the whole position. Wo drove the Turks westward with severe losses and captured the village of Tchrortuk, northward of the Euphrates. TURKISH LOSSES HEAVY. (Received September 3, 5.5 p.m.) PETROGRAD, September 2. A communique says: —The Turkish offensive west of Gnmish Knaneh has been arrested. The enemy fled .with great losses. We are pressing the Turks in the Sakiz region, m the direction of Mchur (in Persia). IN MESOPOTAMIA. AIR RAIDS ON TURKISH LINKS. Reuter’s Telegram*. LONDON, September 2.
An official message says:—There aro no fresh developments, except two successful air raids against Turkish positions on the Tigris front.
