.As an outcome of the war a .new glove .industry has bee® started in Newcastle, and' an extensive plant laid down. It is the only industry of its kind in the north. A hundred years ago glove making was an important business on the Tyneside, but it died out, and the present venture is a revival <vr tho trade in whioh Germany and Austria wero so successful before tho war.
