At a. sitting of the Juvenile - Court yesterday, before Mr T. A. B. Bailey, S.M., a boy nine years of age, was charged with breaking and entering, and a boy of fourteen answered to a charge of not being under proper control. The younger boy appeared not to understand what telling the truth meant, and the Magistrate saad that no was a bar. It was stated that the mother of the lad had left her ■ homo and her husband, who was in poor health, . had to care and provide for threo children. 'lhe Magistrate decided to commit the boy to the Wereroa Boys’ Training Farm. The father of the other lad had left his home also, and had-been sued for maintenance. The boy’s chief offence was that he used abominable language. Mr Bailey decided, after consultation with Mr Rule and the boy’s mother, to commit him to the St Mary’s Industrial School, Takapuna.
