CANAL BURST.
CLYDEBANK FLOODED, HEAVY DAMAGE. By Telegraph—Preas Association—Copyright. Reuter’s Telegrams. LONDON, August 17. The Forth and Clyde canal burst at. Clydebank and great volumes of water poured into the town, flooding the streets to a depth of three feet. In the. shops, houses and shipyards there were exciting scenes. A horse was drowned and lorries were used as ferries. The flood’has now been got under control. The damage is heavy, but there were no casualties.
