General Smuts, advancing on August' IlSfromthe Nguru Mountains, overcame slight opposition and reached the. junction of the principal tracks to Mxogoro find Kilossa. Our Naval Brigade on August 15 occupied tho important military coastal station of Bagamoyo, thirty-six miles northward of Bar- es-Salaam.
