MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The second mothers’ meeting in connection with the Sydenham. Free Kindergarten war .held on 'Wednesday in the Hastings Street Hall. Thero was a largo attendance. Miss Maude continued her course of lectures cn “ Homo Nursin'?," and gave a demonstration of the best way to wash a patient iti bed. The lecturer’s valuable hints were much appreciated. An exhibition of tho work done by tho during the winter form was also a source oi great interest to tho visitors. One of the first kindergarten lessons is to instil into tho ohrld a respect for labour. To this end lessons on trades and occupations were shown, for example the soldier, sailor, postmen and carpenter. Impression work was exhibited in several sand tables, the subjects being u camp, a farm yard, a postal route showing canal with mail' boat, and a. iiost office. Paper cutting, folding and modelline were also shown. The exhibition generally was a most intevesting oue. .
