A French official message says German patrols were dispersed in Champagne, near Tahure, and in the Argonne near La Harazee.

LIVELINESS REPORTED. The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, August 16. The French official message says :—- At Verdun matters were rather lively in the Vaux-Clmpitre Wood region. .
BELFORT BOMBED.
NO CASUALTIES CAUSED

A communique says:—Germau ait' craft bombed Belfort. Tliero were no casualties.
