HOSPITAL SHIPS.

THE MA.RAMA AND MAHEXO. [Per Press Association’.] DUNEDIN, August 17. The Hon James Allen states that the New Zealand hospital ships Mamma and Mnheno are now doing splendid work conveying sick and wounded soldiers between France and England. Their services are of an Imperial character, as they are not used exclusively for tho conveyance of New Zealanders. The extent of their work may ho gauged by the record of tho Maheuo, which on July 8 last took no fetter than 1141 sick and wounded from Havre, a record which the Minister says seems almost incredible.
