A communique states: — A German detachment, after a heavy bombardment, penetrated a small salient :n our lines north-west of Huerge, northward of the Aisne, but our coun-ter-attack threw them cut.

The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, August 15.

On the right of the Meuse, north of Chapelle Saint Fine, enemy trenches were taken on a front of 300 metres and a depth of 100 metres. A counterattack was broken.
