LEAGUE TEAM SEEKS A GROUND. QUESTION OF PLAYING AGE. A deputation from the Sydenham Rugby Football League, headed by Mr W. Moyle, waited on the City Council last night to ask for a playing ground at Sydenham Parle Mr Movie said that negotiations had been opened for a ground at Sydenham Park previously held by a. Rugby Union club, and as the union club could not at that time raise' a team it was thought a good opportunity to .secure the ground for the league team, winch was as strong as the union team, if not S Mr w! Brunsden said that the. union had two grounds, and the league was entitled to one. Councillor A. S. Taylor: What rules are you following regarding the ago ot players? , , • Mr Moyle: We are only playing Juniors. , . Councillor H. J. Otley: Men or boys? What age? . Mr Moyle: There is no restriction on ago. , , . • Councillor Otley: What is your club composed of, boys or men? Mr Moyle: Chiefly boys, that play in the matches. Mr Moyle added that his club had forty members at the front. 'Die Maxor said that the difficulty ■was that the grounds had been let to the union. Councillor F. Burgoyne, in moving that the request should be referred to the Reserves Committee, urged that the league team should be given, a ground. The motion was carried.
