MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

CHRISTCHURCH. Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday. On a cliargo of drunkenness William Knowlos, William Newberry and Peter Sinclair, second offenders, were each fined 10s, in defanlb forty-eight hours* imprisonment. In judgment summons cases, Norman Mitchell (Mr Wright) v. Johann Heiurich Wacker,. claim .£7O 10s, order made for payment forthwith, in default two months' imprisonment; Cyril M'Douald (Mr Neave) v. Stanley Parrington (Mr Ward), claim £ls os 6d, and E. 0. Brown and Co.,' Ltd. (Mr Williams) v. Stanley Parrington, claim &i '.los 6d. The oases were adjourned till September 30, as it was stated that debtor was interested in a trust estate in England running into six figures, and the trustees had been written to. Mabel Paton v. Thomas George Aston, claim £6 1.2 s Id, debtor ordered to pay Is a week, in default seven days' imprisonment; John JBridgman (Mr Lyon) v. Albert Waterman, claim £l3 2s, debtor ordered to pay 2s a week, in default twelvo days' imprisonment; Henry Leigh (Mr Williams) v. John Crowe, claim £1 15s sd, order made for Is a week, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment; W. J. Coles and Co. (Mr Rowe) v. Stanley Henderson, claim £l3 Ss 6d, order made for 5s a week, in default fourteen days' imprisonment; L. G. Stephens (Mr Johnston) v. Stanley Rudd, claim £29 17s; order made for payment forthwith, in default one month's imprisonment. Judgments by default with costs were airon as fellows :—G. W. Woods and Co. v. William Mureh, £5 7s; Edward Georgo Keats v. Bert Painter. £3 8s 3d.

LYTTELTON. Captain R. Hatchwell, J.P., and Mr W. C. Cleary, J.P., presided at the Magistrate's Court at Lyttelton on Saturday. John Symington, on a. charge of drunkenness, ivaa fined 53, and for having behaved in a violent and disorderly manner in a railway carriage was fined £2 and costs.
