SCHOOL COMMITTEES' ASSOCIATION.

' rfhe annual meeting of tho Canterbury cchool Committees' Association was held on Thursday, evening at the Y.M.C.A. There was a good attendance of delegates from the various city and suburban school committees, and four members of the Education poard, Messrs Opie; Adams', Androws and Jamieson also attended. ; '■ . t : The' report-', and bilance-sheet, which were adopted,', showed the finances to' be in a satisfactory state, unusually heavy expendi-ture.-having been met, and all liabilities, including ell expenses incident to the annual meeting, ha,ying been cleared off and a small Kredit balance left in hand. ' "": Officers were elected as follow: President, Mr A. Peverill (East Christchurch); vicepresident, Mr W. Jones (Elmwcod); honorary secretary,- Mr W. H. CToyco (Sornerfield) i honorary treasurer, Mr D. Ijumsdeni rSumjior); committee, Messrs Forsythe''(Upper Riccarton), Harvey (Waltham), ThomP.soii (Shirley), Faulkner (St Albans), J. Down fAddington) and D..K. Haberficld (Sprej-don). Mr Peverill also suggested desirability of occasional conferences between members cf the' board and' the association on educational matters..... - .' . ■ Mr W.
